A California district attorney declined to file costs Tuesday in opposition to former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a physical altercation with one other passenger on a JetBlue flight.

San Mateo County District Lawyer Steve Wagstaffe made the choice after having reviewed police reviews and videos of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been recognized, and Tyson requested that no prices be filed.

"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Legal professional’s Workplace concluded its overview of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he committed a misdemeanor battery against one other passenger on an airplane while waiting at the terminal previous to departure," Wagstaffe stated in a statement.

"Our resolution is that we will not file any charges in opposition to Mr. Tyson based on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. These embody the conduct of the sufferer main as much as the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the sufferer, in addition to the requests of each the sufferer and Mr. Tyson that no expenses be filed in this case," Wagstaffe said.

The case is now closed.

Cellphone video confirmed Tyson, 55, appearing to try to punch someone who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson stated the individual was harassing Tyson. The video did not present what occurred earlier than the altercation.

David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the decision to not file charges by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and legislation enforcement businesses "for their careful, diligent, and professional work."
