Taliban chief orders women to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s women to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.

“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's conventional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.

“These ladies who should not too outdated or young must cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to keep away from provocation when assembly males who are not mahram (adult shut male family),” the decree mentioned.

It added that if girls had no vital work outdoors it was “higher they keep at house.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed comparable restrictions on ladies.
