Man arrested in connection with “faculty shooter” signs found in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of charges. 

An elevated quantity of police officers have been placed at schools within the communities on account of the indicators. A number of colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the signs around the communities, the Division of Safety mentioned, however they determined there isn't a credible threat presently.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The security division launched a photo of the plate but blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of felony threatening and three misdemeanor charges including false report back to legislation enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged at this time.
