BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of signs saying "school shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety introduced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of costs.

An increased amount of cops have been placed at faculties within the communities because of the signs. Multiple colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the signs across the communities, the Department of Safety stated, but they decided there isn't a credible threat right now.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The protection department released a photograph of the plate however blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of prison threatening and three misdemeanor costs together with false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at this time.
