DALLAS - The high court docket will allow a wrongful death lawsuit to proceed in opposition to town of Dallas and four police officers.
The family of a person who died in police custody in 2016 sued.
Tony Timpa known as police for help as he had a drug and psychological well being disaster.

Town of Dallas argued the officers are legally protected from lawsuits.
The Supreme Court docket upheld a federal appeals court docket’s ruling that will permit the case to proceed.

"The decision signifies that the case can proceed to trial and that there will be no extra delays from any appellate court docket. Those are the states lined by the Fifth Circuit Courtroom of Appeals ruling allowing the swimsuit to proceed.
Three years in the past, the Dallas district lawyer dropped prison expenses against three of the officers.
