Days after at the least 19 elementary college college students and two academics have been killed in a mass taking pictures at an elementary college in Uvalde, Texas, students at schools around the nation staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

"You see information day-after-day about kids getting shot and folks your age dying and it is simply extremely sad and unbelievable, particularly to see like kids younger and children my age," Janoff told ABC Information. "I cant imagine that being me; but it's imaginable because it occurs so usually."
The 17 year-old says her school's administration was in support of the walkout and she hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations throughout the nation send a clear message that college students are a "united front."
A walkout could not necessarily change laws, Janoff said, however these actions show "students are nonetheless united on this."
She mentioned that though most college students aren't old enough to vote, they nonetheless want to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.
"College students don't must be quiet about it simply because they're a kid," Janoff mentioned.
