A California district legal professional declined to file prices Tuesday against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a bodily altercation with one other passenger on a JetBlue flight.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe made the decision after having reviewed police reports and movies of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been recognized, and Tyson requested that no expenses be filed.
"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Legal professional’s Workplace concluded its evaluation of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he dedicated a misdemeanor battery against another passenger on an airplane whereas ready at the terminal previous to departure," Wagstaffe said in a statement.
"Our determination is that we'll not file any expenses against Mr. Tyson primarily based on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. These embrace the conduct of the victim leading as much as the incident, the interplay between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the sufferer and Mr. Tyson that no prices be filed on this case," Wagstaffe said.

Cellphone video confirmed Tyson, 55, showing to try to punch someone who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson said the individual was harassing Tyson. The video didn't present what occurred earlier than the altercation.
David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the choice to not file charges by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and regulation enforcement companies "for their cautious, diligent, and professional work."
