TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, in response to officials.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two different instances in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Court docket records say he flew backwards and forwards disguising himself as an English teacher.
Among the boys, in keeping with the DOJ, were lured with guarantees of money and items. Others launched him as their English instructor.
The Tampa Bay News says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Venture Protected Childhood, which was an effort to find child sex abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.
“The legal guidelines of the United States will still catch as much as youngster predators who even travel to overseas countries to sexually abuse minor kids. Day pleaded responsible to two counts of travel with intent to have interaction in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of tried coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual exercise, according to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
