Comedian Andy Dick arrested on suspicion of sexual battery in California

Comedian Andy Dick was arrested Wednesday at a campground in Orange County, California, on suspicion of sexual battery, authorities mentioned.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Division responded to O’Neill Regional Park around 9 a.m. after the adult male sufferer known as authorities about a potential sexual assault, mentioned Sgt. Scott Steinle, a sheriff’s spokesman.

Dick, 56, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual battery, Steinle mentioned.

The sheriff’s department wouldn't provide extra particulars about the nature of the allegations.

The Orange County District Legal professional’s Workplace had not obtained the case Wednesday and has not made a charging choice, spokeswoman Kimberly Edds mentioned.

Deputies responded to a campground space of the 4,500-acre park close to the Santa Ana Mountains in Southern California, where they met the victim and eventually arrested Dick, Steinle mentioned.

Dick was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail Wednesday, in line with jail records. It was not immediately clear whether or not he had an legal professional who may speak on his behalf in the incident.

An individual who has been Dick’s supervisor didn't reply to a request for remark.

Dick was accused of groping a male ride-share driver in West Hollywood in 2018 and charged the next 12 months with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Dick has pleaded not responsible, and the case is set for trial, mentioned his lawyer in that matter, Daniel Kapelovitz. Kapelovitz said he does not signify Dick in Wednesday’s incident and had not spoken to him.
