800 staff resign after company asks them to work from workplace

As the Covid state of affairs has improved, several firms have already referred to as their employees to workplace, ending the do business from home (WFH).

However, it appears some staff want to earn a living from home additional. Lately, hundreds of employees have resigned when an organization asked them to return to the workplace.

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr staff have resigned from the kids online coding studying edtech start-up within the final two months after being asked to work from workplace.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, requested its employees to return to workplace within a month’s time, in line with an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the corporate announced the coverage to finish work from home and asked remote workers to return to office by April 18.

The resignations got here from full-time employees of the gross sales, coding, and math teams. More workers are expected to put down their papers in the coming months.

One of the staff who resigned instructed the web site that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have kids, some have aged and sick dad and mom, whereas others produce other responsibilities. It isn't proper to call back workers in such a short time frame,” the former WhiteHat Jr employee stated.

Another employee said salaries also factored within the decision to not return to the workplace. At the time of hiring, employees had been advised about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has offices in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Nonetheless, after working from home for two years, employees believed that their salaries must be revised to mirror the cost of living in expensive cities.

“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former employee remarked.
